Short Course Fee:
Short courses are not included in the basic conference registration fee. Fees vary based on course length (one day, two day) and course type (computer based or lecture). See the short courses page for detailed course descriptions and pricing. Short course fees are $100 higher for non-ALA Members
Registration Discount Details
ALA Headquarters must receive all discounted registrations and payment by the appropriate date, as listed below. Forms received at headquarters without payment (i.e. fax copies of a check) will not be accepted. Registrations are not honored until payment is received.
- Advance registration discount for registrations received between October 1st and December 14, 2009 is $200 off the basic conference rate for Industry registrations and $100 off the basic conference rate for Academic registrations. Forms and payment must be received by December 14, 2009.
- ALA member discount saves $150 off the basic full conference rate. Join or renew today with your registration to save! The online registration system will allow you to join or renew your membership.
- Academic registration rate is for Hospital, Government and University personnel ONLY.
- Student conference registration fee: $25
- If your membership will expire prior to February 1, 2010, you must renew your membership prior to taking advantage of the member discounts for the conference. You may renew your membership within the online registration form. Your renewed membership will commence on your anniversary date.
Full-time college students, graduate students and postdocs may register for the conference and a short course for a small fee of only $25 each, to cover the cost of materials (travel, lodging NOT included). Please note that there is limited availability for short courses (you will be notified of acceptance by January 5, 2010). You must fax your registration form and current copy of your college student ID to +1.708.344.4444. For more information, please contact the Conference Registrar.
Note: A limited number of Academic Travel Awards are available to defray the cost of attending LabAutomation2010 for students, graduate students, postdocs and junior faculty. Please see the the Award page or contact the ALA for details.
Badge Credentials
If you register by January 4, 2010, your badge credentials will be sent directly to you at the address provided on the form. You should pick up your badge holder at the registration desk located in the Palm Springs Convention Center. Should you register after this date, you will be sent instructions on how to pick up your badge credentials.

Methods of Registration
LabAutomation2010 offers several convenient methods of registration. Please note the deadlines for discounted registrations as noted above. Registration information with payment must be received by this date in order to qualify for the early discount.
Online Registration (Credit Card Only)
Online registration for LabAutomation2010 is the preferred registration method as it allows the conference to pass maximum discounts to the conferees, allows for more timely attendee information, and reduces the logistical work for the conference organizers. All conference registration information, including credit card information is handled by a secure server.
Fax Registration (Credit Card Only)
Registrations by fax will be accepted only if submitted with credit card information. Registration forms may be found in JALA as well at here (PDF). Alternately, the online registration form may be filled in, printed, and faxed. Please fax the form to the conference registrar at +1.708.344.4444.
Mail-In Registration (Credit Card or Check Accepted)

Confirmation
If you register online, a confirmation email will be sent immediately to you after successful completion of your registration. If you Fax or Mail in your registration form, you should receive an email confirmation of your registration within three (3) weeks; if not, please call the conference registrar at 708.486.0747.

Conference Refund Policy
Cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to ALA Registration P.O. Box 492, Brookfield, IL 60513-0492, via fax at +1.708.344.4444 or by email to lab10@compusystems.com. Please note that all refunds will be issued in the same format as payment was received. All cancellations will be processed and refunds distributed within 30 days of the close of the conference.
Cancellations received in writing:
- On or before December 24, 2009 are subject to a $50 administrative fee.
- After December 24, 2009 are not refundable
Short Course Refund Policy
Cancellations for short course attendance received in writing:
- On or before December 24, 2009 are subject to a $50 administrative fee.
- After December 24, 2009 are not refundable.
Questions or refund request, should be sent to the Conference Registrar.
In Case of Emergencies
Please give us your cell phone when we ask for it during the registration process. This will only be used in the event of an emergency at the conference and will not be used for marketing purposes nor will it be stored in your permanent member record. Should an emergency situation arise in Palm Springs, you would be sent a text message with instructions.

ALA Liability Waiver
I, as a conference participant, agree and acknowledge that I am undertaking such participation in ALA events and activities of my own free will. I hereby assume all risks of personal injury and/or other loss or damage arising out of or in any way associated with my participation in LabAutomation2010. I release to the fullest extent permitted by law, ALA and any of its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents or other representatives, successors, assigns, and all others acting on their behalf (collectively referred to herein as the "Released Parties") from any and all responsibilities, claims, expenses, personal injury, wrongful death or liability for injuries or damages of any kind resulting from or in any way arising out of my participation in the LabAutomation2010. I also agree to hold the Released Parties harmless against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, losses, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred in defending such claims directly or indirectly resulting from, or in any way arising out of or related to my participation in LabAutomation2010. I acknowledge that my participation in LabAutomation2010 is expressly conditioned on my agreeing to the foregoing.
Publicity Release
I acknowledge that at times during the LabAutomation2010 conference, sessions will be presented before a live audience and ALA may web-cast, videotape, audio-tape, photograph, record or broadcast LabAutomation2010 or various aspects of LabAutomation2010. I hereby grant full permission to ALA to use any photograph, videotape, audiotape, motion picture, or any other similar recording or broadcast of LabAutomation2010 including my name and likeness for any ALA business purpose.
