LabAutomation2011 Call for Abstracts

The LabAutomation2011 conference and exhibition will be held January 29 - February 2, 2011 at the Palm Springs Convention Center, Palm Springs, CA. LabAutomation2011 offers compelling content and new perspectives on laboratory technologies from a broad range of industries and disciplines.

The non-profit Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) is now accepting abstract proposals for LabAutomation2011 podium and poster presentations. Present your work on a global stage and participate in a premier scientific program that boasts the world's Top 100 laboratory automation podium presentations. Contributions from academia, government and industry are welcome. Submissions from graduate students, post-doctoral associates and young faculty are encouraged.

Win the $10,000 SLAS Innovation Award and a Trip to Chemtech World Expo
in Mumbai, India
The SLAS Innovation Award is a $10,000 cash prize awarded to the author of the winning presentation at LabAutomation2011.

Additionally this year for LabAutomation2011, SLAS Innovation Award finalists will have the possibility of being selected as an elite guest presenter to showcase their work at the 25th Chemtech World Expo, Bombay Exposition Centre, February, 23-26, 2011, featuring more than 40,000 participants. Guest presenters will be provided with air travel to and from Mumbai, along with hotel accommodations, and a modest per diem. For details, visit SLAS Innovation Award.

LabAutomation2011 is the premier conference and exhibition promoting knowledge-sharing, peer networking, and connections among industry and academic leaders. This is also true of the world's Top 100 laboratory automation podium presentations featured at our conference, all of which exemplify our commitment to bringing science, technology and industry together through the following educational tracks.

  • Detection and Separation
  • Micro- and Nanotechnologies
  • High-Throughput Technologies
  • Informatics
  • Evolving Applications of Laboratory Automation, featuring Agriculture and Food

Abstracts relevant to any of these tracks will be accepted and reviewed by SLAS's Scientific Committee.

In addition to the above educational tracks, the Scientific Committee Chair and Associate Chair will review all submissions and may select some abstracts for presentation that may not necessarily align with the conference tracks noted above.

The SLAS Innovation Award recognizes outstanding conference participants who present innovative laboratory technologies or new, highly useful technology advances and applications. Podium presentations displaying clarity of vision, extraordinary technical originality, and seminal integration and automation strategies qualify for the award. Presentations from academia, government institutions, and industry are welcome. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Fundamental study to develop new technology for the laboratory
  • New application of technology to laboratory automation
  • Use of technology to solve a unique problem
