LabAutomation Continues to Deliver Year After Year

ALA is experiencing significant and positive changes this year as our association merges with the Society for Biomolecular Sciences (SBS). The unity of these two premier organizations will launch the newly formed Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS), one inclusive worldwide organization dedicated to advancing scientific research and discovery through laboratory automation and screening technology. Watch for further details about the official launch of SLAS and our new, comprehensive SLAS website later this year.

While SLAS is bringing together ALA and SBS members throughout the scientific community, both entities will preserve their former identities and specialized educational pursuits, as well as continue to host their respective annual events as Sections of the new SLAS. The LabAutomation Conference and Exhibition, as it has year after year, will continue to deliver a first-class educational program and bring together a worldwide network of diverse scientific professionals. LabAutomation2011 will be the perfect time to experience the positive impact that the SBS-ALA merger will have on both our members and our professional community.

Celebrating its 15th year, LabAutomation consistently provides critical value for short- and long-term success. From a robust exhibition floor showcasing the latest cutting-edge technologies; to unique, in-depth learning through short courses; to an exceptional line-up of plenary and podium speakers, LabAutomation2011 offers practical ideas, thought-provoking strategies, industry-changing innovations and an extensive awards program that recognizes individuals who have contributed to laboratory automation and technology advancement. The SLAS Innovation Award is among those awards as it recognizes the work of those unique and special podium presentations at LabAutomation that are exceedingly innovative, contribute to the exploration of technologies in the laboratory, and comprise independence of thought, clarity of vision, extraordinary technical originality, and seminal integration and automation strategies.

Take a look at the website, consider the extensive topics addressed, explore the reach and expertise of our plenary speakers and other attendees, and examine the benefits you will personally and professionally gain from attending this leading scientific event. The SLAS leadership, members of the Scientific Committee, and I all invite you to participate and engage. Each of us are certain you will be far more than satisfied with what LabAutomation2011 offers to help you launch the new year and move quickly toward reaching your company and professional goals.

SLAS exists to serve the educational needs of the scientific and technological specialists who make the laboratory automation community unique. LabAutomation2011 is the cornerstone of the SLAS mission, the heart of its annual curriculum and your best option for an exceptional bottom line.

Sincerely,
Adam Woolley, Ph.D.
