SLAS International Conference Program Advisory Committee

The SLAS International Conference Program Advisory Committee is made up of Track Chairs and Session Chairs responsible for developing the podium program to be presented at the International Conference. Session chairs are recruited in March of each year and confirmed by the Track Chairs as appropriate.

Member Products and Services Advisory Committee

The SLAS Member Products and Services Advisory Committee thoughtfully analyzes member opinion survey data and, in response, assists in proposing new program, product, service and event initiatives that align with the SLAS mission and goals.

Students and Early Career Professionals Advisory Committee

The SLAS Student and Early Career Professionals Advisory Committee ensures that society programs for students and early career professionals are aligned with the SLAS mission and goals.

SLAS Awards and Grants Advisory Committee

The SLAS Awards and Grants Advisory Committee oversees SLAS awards, grants and scholarship programs. Individual working groups formed by members of this committee and other designated SLAS members are responsible for the development of specific programs.

Microplate Standards Advisory Committee

The SLAS Microplate Standards Advisory Committee is responsible for the maintenance of the five ANSI/SLAS standards. Per ANSI, membership balance between manufacturers and users must be maintained.

Awards Judging

SLAS hosts a variety of awards that require the review of a volunteer panel of judges. Some judging is done online, some requires onsite judging at the SLAS Annual Conference and Exhibition.

Social Media Ambassador

The laboratory science and technology community has a lot to talk about. Help get the conversations started by posting thoughts, questions, links to interesting articles (especially those published in SLAS Technology and SLAS Discovery) in your own social media networks and on SLAS’s LinkedIn and Facebook forums. Comment on feature stories published in the SLAS ELN e-zine.

LabAutopedia Wiki

With LabAutopedia, SLAS hosts the world’s biggest, best and only wiki focused exclusively on laboratory science and technology. LabAutopedia is the SLAS Knowledge Network, and it relies on volunteers to collect and build its contents.

Short Course Instruction

SLAS considers proposals for new short courses for the International Conference in March / April of each year. Such courses are half-day or full-day in length.

Student / Early Career Professional Mentor Program

The SLAS Mentor Program offers free 45 minute one on one career mentoring sessions in conjunction with the Annual Conference and Exhibition. SLAS typically has 10-15 mentors volunteer each year for this role.

SLAS Technology and SLAS Discovery Editorial Boards are always looking for willing, able and reliable volunteers with scientific expertise to critically assess manuscript submissions.
