Call for Candidates for the SLAS Europe Council

SLAS is seeking candidates for its Europe Council. SLAS will be presenting a slate of two individuals to the SLAS European Region dues-paying membership. The two candidates presented in the slate will serve as Europe Council members for a three-year term (January 2018 - January 2021).

It is the duty of SLAS to diligently consider and select qualified individuals to serve on the Europe Council. Qualified candidates will balance the diverse interests of the SLAS community and align with the Society's strategic direction. Moreover, the final slate should ideally present a mix of candidates who appropriately represent our Society's constituency in Europe.

All candidates must have the capacity and commitment to serve and meet all the required criteria as outlined in the following documents:

Upon receipt of these materials, SLAS will be presenting a slate of two individuals to the SLAS Europe Region dues-paying membership in September 2017. These candidates will undergo a formal approval process by the SLAS Board of Directors before starting their official tenures on the SLAS Europe Council. Final Board of Directors approval of the Council members will be made by Thursday, 3 November 2017.

Deadline to receive an alternate slate is midnight CET, Sunday, 15 October 2017.

Any voting member in good standing may submit, in accordance with this paragraph, a petition nominating alternate candidate(s) ("petition"). The petition must be in the form designated by the Committee from time to time and maintained at SLAS headquarters (available upon request), signed by not less than twenty percent (20%) of the total number of members eligible to vote, and received by SLAS CEO at SLAS headquarters on or before the petition deadline. For the purposes of this paragraph, the total number of members entitled to vote shall include all members entitled to vote on the petition deadline.
