Registration Discount Details
SLAS must receive all discounted registrations and payment by the appropriate date, as listed above. Forms received without payment (i.e. fax copies of a check) will not be accepted. Registrations are not honored until payment is received.
- Academic registration rate is for Hospital, Government and University personnel ONLY.
- Student conference registration fee: $25 (student ID required, Online registration is not available).
- If your SLAS membership will expire prior to March 1, 2011, you must renew your membership prior to taking advantage of the member discounts for the conference. You may renew your membership here.
- Your renewed membership will commence on your anniversary date and will expire on December 31, 2011. SLAS memberships are calendar-year based. Prorated membership rates are available.
Full-time college students, graduate students and postdocs may register for the conference for a fee of only $25 each, to cover the cost of materials (travel, lodging NOT included). You must fax your registration form and current copy of your college student ID to +1.703.964.1246. For more information, please contact the Conference Registrar at tsexauer@slas.org.
Note: A limited number of Academic Travel Awards are available to defray the cost of attending SBS 2011 for students, graduate students, postdocs and junior faculty. Applications must be received by December 1, 2010. Please see the Academic Travel Award page.
Discounted Registration for Groups
SLAS is pleased to offer discounted registration to groups attending the 17th Annual SBS Conference and Exhibition. Group discounts are only applicable to full-conference registration fees and all registrations must be received by SBS 2011 Registration together.
A discount of 20% off of each full conference registration is available for groups of five (5) registrants from the same company who are registered at the same time. This discount program is only available to registrants who pre-register for the conference and will not be available on-site. Short Course and student registrants are not eligible for this group discount program. Discounts are available only in groups of five (5). Discounted registrants may also register for SBS 2011 Short Course, but only the full conference registration fee will be discounted. Short Course registration fees are not discounted as part of this program.

Methods of Registration
SBS 2011 offers several convenient methods of registration.
Online Registration (Credit Card Only)
Online registration for SBS 2011 is the preferred registration method as it allows the conference to pass maximum discounts to the conference participant, allows for more timely attendee information, and reduces the logistical work for the conference organizers. All conference registration information, including credit card information is handled by a secure server.
Fax Registration (Credit Card Only)
Registrations by fax will be accepted only if submitted with credit card information. For a printed version of the registration form click here. Please fax the form to the conference registrar at +1.703.964.1246.
Mail-In Registration (Credit Card or Check Accepted)
For mail-in registrations, please download the SBS 2011 registration form (PDF), fill out the fields electronically and print locally or write in your information and print locally then mail with payment (credit card information or enclosed check) to:

Confirmation
If you register online, a confirmation email will be sent immediately to you after successful completion of your registration. If you Fax or Mail in your registration form, you should receive an email confirmation of your registration within three (3) weeks; if not, please call the conference registrar at +1.703.964.1240 x26

Conference Refund Policy
Cancellation requests received prior to Friday, February 25, 2011 will be refunded in full, less a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be issued after this date. Cancellations must be submitted in writing to SLAS Registration at 1260 Roger Bacon Drive, #500, Reston, VA 20190, via fax at +1.703.964.1246 or via email to tsexauer@slas.org. Please note that all refunds will be issued by check. All cancellations will be processed and refunds distributed within 30 days of the close of the conference. Short course-only cancellations are subject to the same cancellation policy.
Registrants may substitute another individual from within the same company and pay any difference in registration type. SLAS must be notified in writing of any substitutions.
In Case of Emergencies
Please give us your cell phone when we ask for it during the registration process. This will only be used in the event of an emergency at the conference and will not be used for marketing purposes nor will it be stored in your permanent member record. Should an emergency situation arise in Orlando, Florida, you would be sent a text message with instructions.
Terms and Conditions
SLAS Liability Waiver
I, as a conference participant, agree and acknowledge that I am undertaking such participation in SBS events and activities of my own free will. I hereby assume all risks of personal injury and/or other loss or damage arising out of or in any way associated with my participation in SBS 2011. I release to the fullest extent permitted by law, SLAS and any of its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents or other representatives, successors, assigns, and all others acting on their behalf (collectively referred to herein as the "Released Parties") from any and all responsibilities, claims, expenses, personal injury, wrongful death or liability for injuries or damages of any kind resulting from or in any way arising out of my participation in the SBS 2011. I also agree to hold the Released Parties harmless against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, losses, damages, and expenses, including reasonable attorney's fees and costs incurred in defending such claims directly or indirectly resulting from, or in any way arising out of or related to my participation in SBS 2011. I acknowledge that my participation in SBS 2011 is expressly conditioned on my agreeing to the foregoing.
Publicity Release
I acknowledge that at times during the SBS 2011 conference, sessions will be presented before a live audience and SLAS may web-cast, videotape, audio-tape, photograph, record or broadcast SBS 2011 or various aspects of SBS 011. I hereby grant full permission to SLAS to use any photograph, videotape, audiotape, motion picture, or any other similar recording or broadcast of SBS 2011 including my name and likeness for any SLAS business purpose.
