Stem Cell Global Symposium 2011
Join the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) for Screening Stem Cells 2011: From Reprogramming to Regenerative Medicine, a two-day event being held September 26-27, 2011, at the Sheraton Boston Hotel in the Back Bay area of Boston. Screening Stem Cells 2011 is part of the SLAS Global Symposium Series, designed to provide participants with focused learning, peer connections and access to the latest technologies and services.
Screening Stem Cells 2011, with a scientific program consisting of 18 podium speakers, as well as thought-provoking poster sessions and an exhibition showcasing leading edge technologies, offers a deep dive into this emerging field of drug discovery research. High-throughput screening (HTS) and high-content screening (HCS) technologies against stem cells offer great potential for identifying novel small molecules to reprogram cells and to induce formation of terminally differentiated functional cells and provide more relevant cell models of disease for drug discovery.
Early confirmed speakers include:
- Rudolf Jaenisch, M.D. a founding member of the Whitehead Institute
- Brock Reeve, MPhil, MBA and Chad Cowan, Ph.D. of the Harvard Stem Cell Institute
- Deepak Srivastava, M.D., Gladstone Institute of Cardiovascular Disease, University of California, San Francisco
- Hans S. Keirstead, Ph.D., Anatomy & Neurobiology Neurological Surgery, University of California, Irvine
- Alexander Meissner, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Harvard University Department of Stem Cell and Regenerative Biology; Broad Institute
Program topics include:
- Stem Cells: Reprogramming
- Stem Cells: Business Models for Success
- Stem Cells: Differentiation
- Stem Cells: Cell-Based Therapeutics
Those who should participate include:
- Stem cell biologists
- HTS/HCS screeners
- Medicinal chemists
- Assay developers
- Cell culture scientists
- ADMET scientists
- Therapeutic teams
