NEW! SLAS FIRST Team Grants
To support the outstanding work being done by FIRST teams, SLAS is offering a limited number of $500 team grants available on a first applied-for, first-served basis.
FIRST’s mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills that inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
Applications for these grants must be personally endorsed by a dues-paid SLAS member actively engaged as a coach or mentor in a local FIRST team.
SLAS Innovation Award
The SLAS Innovation Award is a $10,000 cash prize recognizing the work behind that one unique and special podium presentation at the SLAS Annual Conference that proves to be exceedingly innovative and contributes to the exploration of technologies in the laboratory, exceeds a benchmark or milestone in screening or the lead discovery process, or demonstrates an advanced and integrated use of mature technologies. SLAS New Product Award
These awards showcase up to three products exhibited at the SLAS Annual Conference and Exhibition based on market opportunity, extraordinary technical originality, quality supporting data and impact on laboratory automation and screening. [Past Honorees]
SLAS Journal Awards of Excellence
SLAS's two MEDLINE-indexed scientific journals, the Journal of Biomolecular Screening (JBS) and the Journal of Laboratory Automation (JALA) both honor and celebrate the year’s best manuscripts and contributions with Readers' Choice Awards, Authors' Choice Awards, Reviewer Excellence Awards and the JALA and JBS Art of Science Contest winners. JALA & JBS Art of Science Award Contests
SLAS recognizes aspiring artists that create scientific-inspired artwork and innovative graphic design through an annual competition conducted through our two journals. See past winners and additional information.
SLAS Tony B. Academic Travel Awards
This annual scholarship program comprises funding for travel, lodging and registration for the SLAS Annual Conference and Exhibition for students, graduate students, post-doctoral associates and junior faculty with less than four years in their first academic appointments. Awards are based on the quality of proposed presentation abstracts, relevance of the research to laboratory automation and screening, and a personal statement of the conference's value.
SLAS Student Poster Competition
Student posters presented at SLAS Annual Conference and Exhibition are judged on quality and relevance. Student poster presenters are all eligible for the Student Poster Competition, in which the top three posters are recognized. Winners each receive a cash prize of $500. Read more
SLAS Strategic Alliance Young Scientist Delegate Program
Every year, SLAS welcomes award-winning young scientists as all-expenses-paid delegates to the SLAS Annual Conference and Exhibition.
SLAS Student Internship Program
This SLAS program is designed to place promising young scientists into industry, government and academic internships that offer hands-on experience in the unique scientific specialties of laboratory automation and screening.
SLAS Financial Support for Approved Nonprofit Programs
SLAS is prepared to objectively consider financial and/or in-kind support for educational initiatives, events and/or special projects that appropriately complement the SLAS mission and goals.
