Meet SLAS CEO Vicki Loise

The new year has arrived and so has SLAS CEO Vicki LoiseLoise is an experienced non-profit management veteran who most recently served as vice president at Kellen, a global association management firm headquartered in Illinois. Throughout her career, she’s brought innovative leadership and success to many different membership organizations, including most recently, the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM), Association of Oncology Social Work (AOSW) and the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine (SAHM).

Among her many strengths, Loise is especially accomplished in guiding the practical implementation of meaningful strategic visions, establishing and building international collaborations and fostering effective and efficient management infrastructures.

Loise joins forces with the high-performing SLAS professional team with a passion for excellence and an eye toward bringing to life the refreshed SLAS Strategic Plan, which will be introduced along with Loise at SLAS2017, Feb. 4-8, in Washington, DC.

“I’m thrilled to serve as CEO of SLAS,” says Loise. “With a foundation that’s firmly established and a clear vision forward thanks to the efforts of the Board of Directors, exceptional volunteers and professional team, I believe SLAS is poised for significant growth. I look forward to facilitating that growth, resulting in increased value for our membership, vendor partners and the life sciences discovery and technology community across the globe.”

Born in Indiana (Go Hoosiers!), Loise grew up in the Chicago area, earned a bachelor’s degree in interpersonal and public communication from Central Michigan University, and this month she celebrates 22 years of marriage to the love of her life. Loise has an 18-year-old son who studies at the University of Missouri and a 16-year-old daughter who is eager to get her hands on her mother’s car. When not in the office or her semi-empty nest, Loise enjoys riding her bicycle, traveling, reading, attending the theater, cooking and dining at restaurants that don't have kids’ menus.

Say hello! Vicki Loise invites SLAS members to contact her any time with questions, suggestions, ideas and concerns. If you’ll be joining SLAS in Washington, DC, for SLAS2017, be sure to attend the opening session on Monday, Feb. 6, at 8:30 a.m. where Loise will be introduced. Throughout the rest of the conference, please look for her and introduce yourself. She looks forward to meeting you!
