Short Course Registration

Short course registration is not included in the conference registration fee schedule above and is an additional cost. You may add short courses to your conference registration at any time. Short courses will be held Saturday, February 3 and Sunday, February 4, 2024. SLAS Premier Members: Register for a Short Course by October 31 and save with Early Bird Registration Rates.

Student Registration

SLAS is pleased to offer deeply discounted registration to students. Students should be prepared to upload a copy of their valid and current student ID at the time of registration. Student registrations will not be confirmed until a valid copy of student ID is received by SLAS. See the registration grid above for student registration pricing. The SLAS Corporate Partner Student Support Program provides free Student membership for 2024, see SLAS Membership for more information.

Note: Student conference registration does not include Short Course registration; a discounted rate for Short Courses is available to students.

Unemployed Individual Registration Waiver

Complimentary registration is available upon request and qualification for currently unemployed individuals wishing to attend SLAS2024. The waiver request form is coming soon! individual's application is reviewed and approved, the Registration Manager will provide a code to be used for complimentary registration within 7-10 business days. Fee waiver is for main registration fee only. Short courses and other add-on options are an additional fee.

Registration Discount Deals

In order to register at the discounted rate(s) as noted above, SLAS must receive all registration forms and payment by the appropriate date, as listed below. Registrations are not honored until payment is received.

*If your SLAS membership expires before December 31, 2023, you must renew your membership prior to taking advantage of the member discounts for the conference. You may renew your membership during the conference registration process.

Method of Registration

Online registration for SLAS2024 is the only advance registration method as it allows for immediate confirmation and secure payment processing. All conference registration information, including credit card information, is handled by a secure server.

Confirmation

Participants who register online will receive a confirmation e-mail immediately upon successful completion of the registration; if you do not receive a confirmation, please contact SLAS2024 Registration at slasreg@discoversb.com or +1-301-658-6929.

Visa Invitation Letter (Non-US Attendees)

During the online registration process, you will have the option to request a Visa Letter of Invitation. You must first register – paying any applicable registration fees – before you can request a letter of invitation. You will receive the letter via email 48-72 hours after you complete and pay for your registration and complete the letter request form. In order to request a Visa Letter of Invitation, you will be required to submit the following information:

SLAS recommends that all Letter requests be made as early as possible due to the current Visa application processing schedule.

Refund requests due to being denied a visa will be honored per the refund policy if SLAS is notified of the denial by the refund request deadline of December 18, 2023. Requests received after this deadline will be processed within 30 days of the conference conclusion.

Badge Pick Up

Badges will not be mailed in advance of SLAS2024. Due to potential safety measures needed at this in-person event, information regarding badge pickup will be confirmed as the conference approaches. Each individual must pick up their own registration badge. The following items must be presented at onsite registration (no exceptions - mobile versions are permitted):

Exhibitor Badge Pickup Hours
The following dates and times have been designated for exhibitor badge pick up. This is to help ensure that exhibitor registrants have collected their badge before the exhibition opens and to avoid lines and crowds.

Saturday, February 3 — 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
Sunday, February 4 — 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Change, Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation Requests: Conference and/or Short Course registration cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to slasreg@discoversb.com.

Please note that, if approved, all refunds will be issued in the same format as payment was received. All cancellations will be processed, and refunds distributed within 30 days of the close of the conference. The following cancellation request deadlines apply:

On or before December 18, 2023: Subject to a $50 administrative fee
After December 18, 2023: Not refundable

Substitutions Can be made at any time with no charge incurred to the registrant by emailing slasreg@discoversb.com with the name of the original registrant and name/email address of the substitute.

Changes to Registration Type: Those wishing to change their registration type, must do so by contacting SLAS2024 Registration at slasreg@discoversb.com.

Before December 18, 2023: Changes may be made at no additional charge. Applicable refunds will be processed accordingly and applied to the same method as payment received.
After December 18, 2023: A change fee of $50 will apply to all changes in registration. Applicable refunds will be processed accordingly and applied to the same method as payment received. Downgrades of in-person registration type are not permitted after December 18, 2023.

Membership Fees: Membership dues refunds for dues purchased via registration must be approved by SLAS and are not refundable via event registration. To request a membership dues refund, please contact Gina Anzalone, ganzalone@slas.org..

Terms and Conditions

All registrants will be required to review and accept the following terms and conditions during the registration process:

PARTICIPANT LIABILITY AND PUBLICITY RELEASE AGREEMENT

I, the undersigned, desire to participate in the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening’s ("SLAS") SLAS Annual International Conference and Exhibition in Boston, MA, USA to be held February 03 – 07, 2024. In exchange for being permitted to participate in and enjoy the benefits of the Event, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

ASSUMPTION OF RISKS. I acknowledge my Event participation may expose me to various risks and dangers. I hereby assume all risks associated with my Event participation, including for personal injury, death, loss of or damage to my property, or any other loss.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF CLAIMS, LIABILITIES, AND ACTIONS. To the extent permitted by applicable law, I hereby waive all claims against, release from all liability (including for negligence), and agree not to bring any action against, SLAS or its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, representatives, contractors, successors, and assigns (collectively, "Released Persons") for personal injury, death, loss of or damage to my property, or any other loss related to my Event participation.

DEFENSE AND INDEMNIFICATION. I shall defend and indemnify SLAS and the Released Persons from all losses, liabilities, claims, and actions (including reasonable attorney's fees and litigation expenses), related to: (i) my acts or omissions; (ii) my Event participation; (iii) the rights granted by me to SLAS under this Agreement; or (iv) my breach of this Agreement.

PUBLICITY PERMISSION. I grant SLAS a worldwide, sub-licensable, assignable, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right (but not the obligation) to photograph, record, digitize, reproduce, distribute, prepare derivative works based on, publicly perform, publicly display, and otherwise use and exploit my name, image, likeness, voice, biographical information, and other personal characteristics as they may appear in photographs, recordings (audio and visual), writings, messages, and other materials (collectively, "Materials") related to the Event, in all formats and media now known or hereinafter created, for any purpose, including for advertising, trade, and commercial purposes. I acknowledge SLAS is the owner of the Materials and I have no right to inspect or approve the Materials or SLAS's use of the Materials.

MISCELLANEOUS. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, excluding its choice of law rules. Any action must be brought in the federal or state courts located in DuPage County, Illinois. If a court finds a provision of this Agreement unenforceable, the rest of the Agreement remains in effect. As to the provision found unenforceable, the provision is not void, but is to be reformed and enforced to the extent permitted by applicable law. This Agreement is binding on me and my heirs, executors, administrators, legal representatives, successors and assigns.

STATEMENT OF CONDUCT. SLAS has adopted the following Statement of Conduct. By agreeing to the terms and conditions within event registration, you are agreeing to abide by this Statement of Conduct. SLAS reserves the right to remove a non-compliant participant from the event without refund.

EVENT CANCELLATION. SLAS reserves the right to cancel this event due to circumstances beyond the control of the organization. In the event of cancellation, SLAS will do its best to make attendees aware of the cancellation in a timely fashion. Refunds of registration fees are not guaranteed in these circumstances.

PHOTOGRAPHY AND RECORDING POLICY. No unauthorized photography, audio or video recording is permitted at SLAS events. Photographs are strictly for personal, noncommercial use. Please respect SLAS presenters and attendees and refrain from taking photographs if they request.

REFUND POLICY. Membership dues are non-refundable. Event registration fees are refundable until December 18, 2023, at which time a $50 cancellation fee will apply. After this date, refunds are not available.

NAME SUBSTITUTIONS. Substitution of name on individual registrations are permitted at no charge at any time after registration is finalized, but not after credentials have been picked up at the event.

BADGE SHARING. Sharing of registration badges is not permitted at any time before or during the event. Badges are issued to, can be picked up by and used only by the Attendee named in the registration record confirmed by SLAS. Sharing of badges against this policy will result in removal from the event, loss of current and future registration and exhibitor privileges.

WEAPON POLICY. Weapons of any type, functional or non-functional, such as firearms, swords, knives, throwing knives, crossbows, stars, bows, boomerangs, darts, tasers, etc. are strictly prohibited at the Event.

SAFE MEETING GUIDELINES. SLAS will adhere to and publish safe meeting guidelines developed in conjunction with the event facility and applicable governing bodies. By registering for this event, participants agree to abide by the guidelines in place at the time of the live event. Safety guidelines will be communicated to registrants via e-mail and the SLAS event website in advance of arrival at the event facility. SLAS reserves the right to remove non-compliant participants from the event without refund.

I READ THIS AGREEMENT AND UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS. I UNDERSTAND THAT BY INDICATING COMPLETING THE REGISTRATION PROCESS BELOW, I AM ENTERING INTO A LEGAL AGREEMENT, WHICH BINDS ME TO THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT, AND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE SLAS AND THE RELEASED.

When registering for SLAS2024, you acknowledge receiving the SLAS Privacy Notice (https://www.slas.org/privacy-notice-non-eu/ for US and non-EU citizens or https://www.slas.org/privacy-notice-eu/ for UK and EU citizens) and will be required to agree to the registration terms and conditions. No one under the age of 16, including infants, will be admitted to the event. Everyone 16 years of age and older must register. There are no exceptions. Proof of age may be required.
