What does it really mean to advocate for yourself, and why can it feel so difficult, even when you know the value you bring? This session will explore the experiences, expectations and challenges that shape how we advocate for ourselves throughout our careers. We’ll explore why asking for a raise or promotion can feel intimidating, what holds us back from speaking up, and how we can make room for ourselves at the table.
Through candid conversation and shared perspectives, we’ll reflect on how self-advocacy evolves across career stages, the leadership habits that support continued growth, and the lessons we would share with our younger selves.
What happens when leadership dynamics are complicated, perspectives differ, or the people you work with don’t always lead the way you'd expect? This session explores the realities of navigating leadership teams, managing challenging dynamics, and finding your voice in complex organizational environments. We’ll consider the challenges of working with difficult managers, the value of diverse perspectives, and our role in challenging assumptions and shaping better decisions.
Through candid conversation and shared experiences, we’ll reflect on how to leverage your own perspective, contribute meaningfully to leadership conversations, and navigate differences while maintaining your voice and influence.
