SLAS is now seeking proposals for new short course programs to be conducted as either half-day (three hours) or full-day (six-hour) sessions on January 25 and 26, 2025.
Short courses provide in-depth instruction on topics, issues and techniques related to the laboratory automation and screening field and SLAS community. Courses can be designed for a beginner, intermediate or advanced level but the proposal should outline the level to whom the course is best suited. The smaller class sizes provide more intensive learning experience and ability for attendees to share their challenges.
Do you have a unique or specialized role in your organization? Are you an expert with a particular software, programming language, tool or process in your organization? Consider sharing that knowledge by designing and presenting a short course! Are you the go-to person for safety, data analytics, or thermodynamics – share it!
Courses may be conducted in an engaging lecture style or as immersive hands-on learning with attendees using their own laptops and software to participate in the course, as needed. A single presenter or multiple presenters may be proposed. Attendees respond best to participatory courses that utilize real-life experiences and applicable data.
Courses will be conducted at the San Diego Convention Center in rooms that are equipped with electricity/access to power, WiFi, and standard AV setups unless specific equipment or room design is requested in advance. SLAS does not provide laptops or printed handout materials for short courses. Handouts may be provided digitally by the course instructors.
Short courses are open to all for an additional registration fee; full conference registration is not required for short course attendance.
Short course instructors are eligible to receive travel funding and an instructor honorarium.?
Short Course proposals are due on June 28, 2024.
